Abbi Jacobson Career
Broad City, a web series about Jacobson and Glazer’s lives in New York, was written and performed by Jacobson and Glazer. The series received an ECNY Award nomination for Best Web Series. It received positive reviews from critics and developed a cult following. Jacobson and Glazer adapted the series for a live show called Broad City Live at the Upright Citizens Brigade. FX purchased a script commitment for the series from Glazer and Jacobson in 2011, working with Amy Poehler as producer. However, the network rejected the script and decided not to move forward with development. After that, Glazer and Jacobson approached Comedy Central, which agreed to buy the script from FX and order a pilot.
Jacobson wrote and performed a solo show called Welcome to Camp in New York and Los Angeles in 2011.
