Andrews joined the WJBK Fox 2 Detroit in August 2011 as a co-anchor of FOX 2 News Morning and started the Amy’s Angels franchise which foregrounds those making a difference in their community.  Amy after completing her college education, headed to Colorado to serve as a news anchor and reporter for a junior television station in the Western Slope. While heading for an interview, she remembers looking in her rearview mirror as she drove away from her home in metro Detroit having hopes of working for FOX 2 News one day.

In December 2002, Andrews headed to Montrose, Colorado where she changed her line of duty from sports anchor to news anchor at KREY/KREX. After working for nine months at KREY/KREX, she headed to “then” UPN affiliate KLBC TV2 in Laughlin, Nevada where she served for three years. In Jul 2006, she joined KSBY 6 as a news anchor and reporter in San Luis Obispo, California. After working for two years in San Luis Obispo, California, she headed back to her home state of Michigan.

In August 2008, Amy joined WNEM TV5 in Flint/Saginaw as a weekend anchor and later morning/noon anchor and co-host for the lifestyle show “Better Mid-Michigan.” After working for good three years at WNEM, Amy landed an opportunity to work at FOX 2 in 2011.

When not on duty, Amy travels around the community empowering viewers to make a difference in their daily life. She is also involved with Gleaners Community Food Bank and is an ambassador for C.A.T.C.H Children’s Charity. She also facilitated FOX 2’s media partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
