Belinda began her career in journalism as a reporter for WIN Television in Wollongong.
In 2002, Russell moved to London and worked for several years as a freelance reporter for various media outlets, including the BBC and Sky News. She covered major international events such as the London bombings and the G20 Summit.
Russell returned to Australia in 2007 and joined the Nine Network as a reporter for the Sydney newsroom. She quickly rose through the ranks and became a regular fill-in newsreader for the network’s flagship news bulletin, Nine News Sydney.
In 2013, Russell was appointed as the co-host of Weekend Today, the weekend edition of the Today show. She has also presented a variety of other programs for Nine, including the coverage of the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018.
