Beavan Symonds was born on March 17, 1988, to co-founder of The Independent Matthew Symonds and lawyer Josephine McAfee (née Lawrence). Her paternal grandfather was John Beavan, Baron Ardwick (a former Daily Herald editor and later a Labour Party MEP in the 1970s), and her paternal grandmother was Anne Symonds, a BBC World Service journalist. Symonds was the result of an affair between her parents, both of whom were married at the time. She was raised in East Sheen, South West London, by her mother.

Carrie Symonds Career
Ms. Symonds attended Godolphin and Latymer School in South West London from 1999 to 2006. She later enrolled at the University of Warwick to pursue a degree in art history and theatre studies. She graduated from the university in 2009 and went on to work as a press officer for the Conservative Party that same year. Her job assigned her to the Conservative Campaign Headquarters, and in 2010, she worked on Boris Johnson’s campaign for London Conservative Party mayor. Ms. Symonds also worked for Conservative MPs John Whittingdale and Sajid Javid, in addition to Johnson. In 2018, she was appointed as the Conservative Party’s communications director. She did, however, leave the position later in the year. However, she left the position later on in the year. Next, a public relations job from the Oceana project came knocking and Symonds took it up.
