Carson began his career as a TV host at a local radio station known as KOME FM based in San Jose, California. He hosted the daily 6 to 10 pm segments on the station and KROQ FM in Los Angeles. He was recruited to work for MTV when he was working as a radio talk show host for KROQ. Daly was assigned to host MTV’s Summer Beach House program titled Motel California.
