Russo also hosts his own radio show and a channel called Mad Dog Podcast, Mad Dog Sports Radio on Sirius XM and Mad Dog Unleashed.

Russo is widely known as the former co-host of the Mike and the Mad Dog Sports program on WFAN News with his former host Mike Francesa. He now appears as a sports contributor and a host on MLB. Chris began hsi career on Television for the first time by working for WKIS in Orlando Florida from 1984 to 1987. During his tenure with WKIS, he was able to cover various major sports events in the United States while seeing a speech therapist.
Chris has to see the therapist in order to make his speech more comprehensible on air. From there, he went on to work as a sports anchor for WMXA News in New York City from 1987 to 1988. By this time, Russo earned his Mad Dog nickname from a radio and TV critic named Bob. He claimed that Russo’s approach to radio is very similar to that of a professional wrestler named, Maurice Cahon. Cahon was widely known as Mad Dog.
In 1989, Chris’ show made its debut on WFAN and he was paired up with Mike after a few weeks. In 2008, WFAN terminated its contract with the show. Therefore, it was moved to Sirius XM Radio as Mad Dog Radio. He now hosts Mad Dog Unleashed on Sirius XM and makes an appearance on the MLB network.
