Dana Tyler is a former news anchor and reporter at WCBS-TV in New York City, where she anchored the station’s 6 p.m. newscast. She also hosted Eye on New York, a weekly community affairs program, along with several annual local specials, including CBS 2 at the Tonys, CBS 2 at the Met, and the Tunnel to Towers Run.

Tyler joined WCBS on July 16, 1990, as a weekend anchor and reporter. After an impressive 34-year career with the station, she signed off for the final time on March 27, 2024.

Previously, she worked as an anchor and reporter at WCOL Radion and WBNS-TV in Columbus as an intern. Jessica also presented the 5 pm noon newscasts at WABC-TV in New York City.

She began her career as an intern at WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio before she moved to New York City in June 1990. She joined CBS as a weekend anchor before she was finally promoted to daily evening co-anchor. At WBNS-TV, Tyler worked alongside Dave Kaylor in the station’s first acquired satellite in 1987.

She then won an Emmy after launching a statewide show with Dave called Heart of Ohio. Dana was also part of the first African-American team in New York City to anchor a popular newscast. Additionally, Tyler also earned more experience as a weekend anchor and reporter for WABC-TV after leaving WCBS for a short while. She officially made her return to the station in April 2006.
