Ed Harding is an American award-winning journalist, anchor and reporter currently working as an evening news anchor at WCVB Channel 5, in Boston, Massachusetts. He co-anchors 4 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm and 11 pm news at NewsCenter 5 with Maria Stephanos. He joined the station in 1988. Prior to joining WCVB, he served as sports director and principal sports anchor at WISH-TV, the CBS affiliate in Indianapolis.

Harding is an award-winning journalist currently working as an evening news anchor at WCVB Channel 5, in Boston, Massachusetts. He co-anchors 4 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm and 11 pm news at NewsCenter 5. He joined the station in 1988 as a weekend sports anchor and reporter. He has an experience of more than 25 years at NewsCenter 5. In 2000, he was promoted to a co-anchor position. Prior to joining WCVB, he worked as sports director and the main sports anchor at WISH-TV, a CBS affiliate in Indianapolis. While there, he anchored and produced the 6 PM and 11 PM sportscasts, co-produced and covered the station’s yearly ‘Indy 500’ special, and also served as a producer and host of The Colts Today, the NFL Indianapolis Colts coach’s show. He covered live reports color commentary for Colts games on WIBC Radio for three years.
Throughout his career, Ed has been awarded several times including three Boston/New England Emmy awards for best Anchor-News and two first-place Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Sound Bites awards for On-Air Personality. He was also named Best TV Sportscaster by Indianapolis Magazine and was awarded two Indiana Associated Press awards while in the Midwest.
Before joining WISH-TV, Harding worked as a sports director and anchor at WSDU-TV in New Orleans starting from 1978 to 1981. He also spent one year in Minneapolis working as an assistant sports director and weekend anchor for KMSP-TV. From 1975 to 1977, Ed was sports director and anchor for WPTZ-TV in Plattsburgh, New York.
