She began appearing as Amanda Woodward, one of her most well-known roles, in the 1993 season of Aaron Spelling’s drama series Melrose Place, a spinoff of Beverly Hills, 90210. Locklear was originally signed by Spelling for a limited run of four episodes, the first of which aired on January 27, 1993. Despite continuing to be listed as a “Special Guest Star” in the opening credits, Locklear became a full-time cast member until the show’s cancellation in 1999.
