Hitchcock crossed paths with British musician Graham Russell in 1975 during the production of Jesus Christ Superstar, marking the genesis of Air Supply. From 1976 to the 1990s, the band achieved numerous chart-topping records, including notable hits like “All Out of Love,” “The One That You Love,” “Lost in Love,” and “Making Love Out of Nothing at All.”
Following a hiatus in 1987, Hitchcock ventured into solo projects, unveiling a series of singles before launching his eponymous solo debut album in 1988. In 1990, he contributed the single “Swear to Your Heart” to the soundtrack of the film Arachnophobia.
