Marina Squerciati ( born Marina Teresa Squerciati ) is an American actress who is best known for her role as Officer Kim Burgess on Chicago P.D. She’s also recognized for guest-starring as a Russian agent on The Americans and appearing in eight episodes of Gossip Girl.

Marina Squerciati Career

Squerciati received the Agnes Moorehead Award for her performance as Judy Holliday in the Lucille Lortel Theatre’s off-Broadway piece Just in Time: The Judy Holliday Story. Squerciati made her Broadway debut in Casey Nicholaw’s Tony Award-winning version of Ernst Lubitsch’s To Be or Not to Be. She appeared in Manipulation, Beauty of the Father, and other Off-Broadway productions. Squerciati was a member of The Essentials and originated the role of “Kerri Taylor” in the Cappella musical comedy Perfect Harmony.

Squerciati made her debut in Emile Ardolino’s The Nutcracker in 1993. In 2009, she made her feature film debut with It’s Complicated. She starred in the films Alter Egos and Frances Ha in 2012. She also starred in the independent film Sparks, which was based on William Katt’s comic SPARKS.

In 2009, she made her television debut on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She rose to prominence in the fall of 2011 with her eight-episode storyline on the fifth season of Gossip Girl, following guest appearances on The Good Wife, Damages, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2010 and 2011. She appeared as a Soviet agent on the FX series The Americans in 2013.

Squerciati was cast as Officer Kim Burgess in the Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago P.D. in August 2013, and the show premiered on January 8, 2014. On September 25, 2019, the seventh season premiered, and on February 27, 2020, NBC announced that the show had been renewed for an eighth, ninth, and tenth season.
