Before joining NBC News, he served as a news anchor at KOMO-TV in Seattle, Washington. Prior to joining KOMO-TV, he worked as a weekend anchor and reporter for three years at KOCO News in Oklahoma City. While there, he anchored 5, 6, and 10 pm weekend newscasts, and reported breaking news of all kinds ranging from weather to crime. He also investigated the local school district following the bus accident and found the district hired a driver despite DUI.

Before joining KOCO-TV, Chesky served as a reporter and fill-in anchor for almost two years at KVUE Media Group in Austin, Texas.
