She spent six years covering ice storms, snow events, tornado outbreaks, and other active weather phenomena at NBC 5 in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Hailing from her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama, Remeisha worked for over four years at WAFF-TV, where she reported on multiple severe thunderstorm outbreaks. There were instances when she provided continuous coverage for hours on end during consecutive tornado warnings.
Remeisha further honed her skills at WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, during her four-year tenure. She reported on a wide range of weather events, from heavy lake effect snow squalls to major flood incidents and severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings.
Remeisha’s passion for meteorology began at a young age when she eagerly watched and compared local meteorologists’ weather forecasts on television while growing up. She would get excited whenever there was a significant weather change, such as the potential for snowfall or impending storms.
Her fascination with weather deepened when she experienced a massive F-4 tornado as a teenager, with estimated winds ranging from 207 to 260 mph. She was with her family when this destructive tornado struck their home, causing widespread damage throughout the neighborhood. Remeisha vividly recalls her mother’s car being hurled from the driveway to the highway in front of their neighborhood. This experience made Remeisha acutely aware of the immense power of Mother Nature and the perils of extreme weather. However, it also ignited her interest and motivation to learn more about weather systems, their impacts, and how to help people prepare before, during, and after such extreme weather events. On April 27th, 2011, another destructive EF-4 tornado struck Remeisha’s parents’ home once again during a super tornado outbreak that caused widespread damage across the Southeastern United States.
