Sandra started her television career by landing her first job in the industry at WTAJ, the CBS affiliate located in Altoona, Pennsylvania. After gaining valuable experience there for two years, she decided to venture into the bustling Motor City and joined WJBK. At WJBK, Sandra became the anchor for the highly-rated weekend editions of “Fox 2 News at 6” and “Fox 2 News at 10,” while also reporting for Fox 2 News.

After six years in Cincinnati, Sandra, along with her family, returned to Detroit and reunited with the NBC affiliate, WDIV. She spent an impressive 13 years at WDIV, where she anchored the station’s weekend newscasts at 6 and 11 p.m. In addition, Sandra filled in during the week as a substitute anchor and also worked as a franchise reporter, contributing to the station’s special projects unit.
During her tenure at WDIV, Sandra covered numerous significant national stories, including the 2018 demonstrations in Washington, D.C., following the tragic shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. She once again found herself at the forefront of reporting in 2022 when students from the Detroit metropolitan area traveled to Uvalde, Texas, to support the children who survived the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School.
