Guida is a New York television and radio personality. He is currently a CBS News business correspondent and WCBS Newsradio 880 news anchor. Guida began his career as a reporter for WSAV-TV in Savannah, GA, and then moved on to G.E.’s WRGB Television in Albany/Schenectady, NY. Guida began his career as a reporter for WSAV-TV in Savannah, Georgia, and then moved on to G.E.’s WRGB Television in Albany/Schenectady, New York. Guida began his career as a reporter for WOR-TV (now WWOR-TV) in New York City in 1970, and later as co-anchor of the station’s former 7pm broadcast in 1971. Guida joined WNBC as a weekend co-anchor in 1972 and rose through the ranks to become the station’s Chief Political Reporter.

In 1981, Guida was named Chief Political Reporter at WCBS-TV. In 1986, Guida returned to WNBC-TV as Chief Political Reporter, and in 1989, he was promoted to co-anchor of Live at Five. Guida was promoted to co-anchor of Today in New York in 1991, when WNBC-TV temporarily dropped the Live at Five brand.When Guida’s contract with the station expired in 1992, he was given a job as the anchor of a new noon program, which did not begin until 1995. Guida would also be accountable for maintaining his Today In New York co-hosting duties. Guida declined this offer when he accepted a senior reporting position at WCBS-TV. Guida expanded his reporting responsibilities in 1993 by becoming a co-anchor at 5 p.m. Guida was promoted from co-anchor at 5 p.m. to co-anchor at 6 p.m. in 1994.

Guida took over as co-anchor of WCBS-Sunday TV’s Edition public affairs program from Jim Jensen in 1995. Guida was named co-anchor of the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts for a brief period when John Roberts left to join CBS News and before John Johnson joined from WABC-TV in the same year. Guida was eventually appointed as the lead anchor for WBIS-TV, a Dow Jones & Company-owned station that broadcast a hybrid mix of sports and business news. Guida joined CNNfn as a daytime anchor after the network was sold to Paxson Communications in 1997. Guida sat in for Lou Dobbs on Moneyline, a business news show that aired on CNN and CNNfn and is now known as Lou Dobbs Tonight, during that time. Guida joined WCBS-AM as an anchor later that year, and anchored coverage of the September 11, 2001 assaults all day. Guida is still around today. Guida has worked as a reporter for the CBS Evening News’ Saturday Edition and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann in recent years. Guida provided the voice of the Newsreader in Activision’s PC game The Movies in 2005.
