He hosted the late-night talk show Tonight with Trevor Noah, which he created and aired on M-Net and DStv from 2010 to 2011. In 2021, he hosted the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, and in 2022, he hosted the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

He began his comedy career while out with his cousin and a friend in a South African bar. They were both inebriated when they began heckling a comedian. When the comedian challenged them to perform on stage, they chose Trevor. He went on stage to avoid looking like a “scaredy cat” and discovered that people laughed when he spoke.

He started his career as a radio host. His “Noah’s Ark” show aired on Gauteng’s youth radio station. Following his announcement of taking over The Daily Show, he referred to Jon Stewart as a major influence (1996). He’s even compared him to a “Jewish Yoda.” Lupita Nyong’o wrote an ode to her in TIME magazine’s “The 100 Most  Influential People” (Pioneers) [April 2018]. “Born a Crime” was written in two versions by him. Because the original version contained some profanity, he wrote an adapted version that did not contain any profanity so that children could read it.
