Van began his career as a drummer. He would often watch his father practice and would occasionally try to play his uncle Alex’s drum kit, prompting the latter to give him a few lessons. He began playing the drums at the age of nine, learning from his uncle and father. Wolfgang later became an active member of the band Van Halen. Wolfgang debuted as a new member of Van Halen in 2007.
