Hena Doba is a Pakistani-American broadcast journalist currently working for NewsNation. Before joining NewsNation, she anchored The National Desk with Hena Doba at CBS News, where she also served as a national correspondent. Additionally, Hena worked as a correspondent and anchor for Cheddar News, a financial news network.

Two days after graduating college, Hena Doba began her journalism career as a producer for Newswatch 50, a local TV station in Watertown, New York. Her first on-air appearance came during the September 11 attacks. While visiting her family in Queens, Doba picked up a camcorder and began documenting the streets.

Early in her career, broadcast news lacked diversity, and Doba faced racist backlash. She recounted incidents where her news director received emails with derogatory comments, including, “Why is the terrorist telling us the news?”

After her time at Newswatch 50, Doba moved to Savannah, Georgia, for a reporting role before joining WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut, as a weekend anchor. She went on to make history as the first person to anchor a national show at 4 a.m. and became one of the first Pakistani Americans to host a news program.
