Recently, Melugin reported live from Uvalde, Texas, where a tragic mass shooting at Robb Elementary School claimed the lives of 19 children and two adults. Additionally, he has been actively reporting from the Rio Grande region, documenting the escalating number of migrants crossing the southern border. In September 2021, Melugin provided extensive aerial footage, captured by helicopters and drones, showcasing thousands of migrants crossing near the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas. Furthermore, in April 2022, he reported on the tragic drowning of Texas National Guardsman Bishop Evans in the Rio Grande.
Before joining FNC, Melugin worked as an investigative reporter for KTTV-TV in Los Angeles. During his time there, he received three local Emmy awards for his investigative reporting within a four-year period. Some notable stories he broke included the revelation of California Governor Gavin Newsom’s violation of COVID-19 guidelines while dining at the French Laundry restaurant.
