MSNBC president Phil Griffin announced the series’ cancellation on July 30, 2015, as part of an effort to shift the network’s daytime programming to more breaking news reposting and less political commentary and opinion. Wagner announced his departure from MSNBC to join The Atlantic as a senior editor on April 26, 2016.
