He first joined the station’s affiliate called WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina back in 1995. Craig then served as a field report anchor for WRC-TV based in Washington DC before becoming a national correspondent for the NBC/MSNBC network.

Craig serves as a correspondent anchor on MSNBC’s Today Morning News and NBC News. He joined the station in 1995 as an anchor for WIS-TV ( an NBC affiliate). Craig was a high school student at that time. Therefore, he had to complete his studies first. Thus, he returned to WIS in July 2001 after graduating from college with a Bachelor’s degree in government studies and communications.
Craig then began hosting his own news program on the station called Craig Cam live segments in 2001. Later he was promoted to weekend morning news anchor. In 2008, Craig announced his departure from the station and joined WRC-TV in Washington DC where he met his wife, Lindsey, a former reporter at the station.
Melvin anchored the station’s Evening News until July 2011. He left WRC and became a daytime anchor at MSNBC News. During his tenure at MSNBC, he has covered the mass shooting of Dallas Police officers in 2016, the Charleston shootings in 2015 among other impactful stories, and feature stories.
