Danny Yamashiro is a radio personality, evangelist, pastor, best-selling book, and researcher from Honolulu, Hawaii. He is well known for surviving a 400-foot fall from the Nuuanu Pali ridge in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the first scholar to give evidence on childhood trauma in relation to American presidents. He was the founding pastor of the Church of Christ at Kapolei, which is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America, where he served as senior pastor for nine years, from 1998 to 2007.

His investigations are theoretically based on Lev Vygotsky’s works. On the work of Herbert A. Simon, Albert Bandura, and Nathan Leites, he based his earlier studies on religious impacts on presidential decision-making.
He formed Jesus Christ Is Calling You Evangelistic Ministry, Inc. (JCCY) in 1993 and began holding large-scale revival tent gatherings all across Hawaii. His organization, Paradise Global Mission, was founded in 1998 and has grown to serve several nations across the world with medical and dental clinics, sports clinics, and various sorts of humanitarian relief through assisting Christian churches in remote areas. On December 22, 1985, Yamashiro slipped and fell 300 feet (91 meters) and then another 100 feet (31 meters) while attempting to save his stranded girlfriend from a 20-foot (6-meter) mountain-climbing disaster.
