Morgan currently works as the weather anchor for the WGN Morning News, weekdays from 4-6 am. She joined the WGN station in May 2017. Prior to joining WGN-TV, she worked as a morning and midday meteorologist and news anchor for three years at WREX 13 News in Rockford, Illinois.
In August 2013, Morgan joined FOX 21 KQDS-DT in Duluth, Minnesota as the weekend meteorologist and served for one year. There she served she utilized Weather Central building creative graphics, wrote daily blogs and used social media to connect with her viewers. While at FOX 21, during the week she worked as a news reporter and had a chance to report on a weather-related story.
While at NIU, Kolkmeyer was an intern for 13 Weather Authority at WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois for five months. Her roles were to help build and prepare extended forecasts using atmospheric model analysis, analyzing current weather conditions, and applying her knowledge to build an accurate forecast.
She was also an intern for Weather Watch 12 at WISN-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for four months. There her duty was to consult with the meteorologist on staff and helped prepare the 7-day forecast. She has been trained on WSI Max System and had proficient guidance in graphics creation, weather show assembly, and analysis of the RPM inside MAX. She also acquired very beneficial experience in the chroma key.
