William Fichtner ( born William Edward Fichtner) is an American actor who has appeared in a variety of films, television shows, and video games. He is most recognized for his roles on television, including Sheriff Tom Underlay on Invasion and Alexander Mahone on Prison Break among others.

Miller moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to begin his acting career. As a studio turned sea monster Gage Petronzi on Buppy Vampire Slayer, he had his first television show. In the 2003 film The Human Stain, he played Coleman Silk, a younger version of Anthony Hopkins’ character. In 2005, Miller landed the role of Michael Scofield in the Fox Network program Prison Break. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for best actor in a drama series in 2005. Miller revealed his affection for Mariah Carey in the songs It’s Like That and We Belong Together.

Miller has written the Stoker film screenplay and Uncle Charlie, a prequel to the movie. His script was voted to the 2010 “Black List” of the 10 best-unproduced screenplays. Miller was added to The Flash cast in July 2014. The screenplay adaptation of David Wroblewski’s novel The Story of Edgar Sawtelle is currently being negotiated.
