Fedida joined ABC in August 1989 as a production secretary for Peter Jennings’ documentary unit Peter Jennings Reporting, after working at CBS News magazine West 57th. She worked on DayOne while at ABC, and she was also a senior producer on the “Networks Millennium” special, which aired for 23 hours and won a Peabody Award and an Emmy Award. Fedida worked with Jennings on World News Tonight and produced many of his children’s specials, including one about the September 11th attacks. The 9/11 special received numerous honors, including a duPont and an Emmy.  She was also a producer on Peter Jennings: Reporter, his producers’ tribute to Jennings after his death in August 2005.

In 2006, Fedida left ABC to join CBS News. She received a Dupont award for her work on Children of the Recession. Fedida is credited with changing the face of ABC News by implementing an aggressive hiring strategy that prioritized women and people of color. Among many others, she hired Michael Strahan. In addition, she established the ABC News Fellows program. Fedida oversaw The View’s remake following Barbara Walters’ retirement and was part of the team that helped the show become one of the most-watched daytime talkers during the 2020 election season.
