Prior to working in Cleveland, Ohio, he worked as a reporter for WNCN (Media General, Inc.) in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. He also served as a Nightside general assignment and State Capitol Bureau reporter for two years at WVIR-TV NBC 29 in Charlottesville/Richmond, Virginia.
