Szwed had an interest in weather while at a young age. Even her family and friends knew that she wanted to become a meteorologist. Her passion for weather grew stronger while in her sixth-grade science class.
Jill started her weather career as the morning and noon meteorologist at WDTV, in Clarksburg, West Virginia. While there, she forecasted all the four-season in the Mountain State including the 26-inch snowstorm several tornadoes to flash flooding. Jill and the WDTV 5 News Daybreak team were honored to be named the “Best AM Newscast” by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. When she is not working, she likes cooking and baking, attending dance classes, and practicing yoga.
