Tamar Braxton is a singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality from the United States. Braxton began her career in 1990 as a founding member of the R&B singing group The Braxtons, which she formed with her sisters. The Braxtons formed as a trio in 1996 and released their debut album, So Many Ways, shortly thereafter. DreamWorks Records released her debut self-titled album in 2000.

One of her unreleased songs, ‘Try Me,’ was included on the soundtrack album for the film ‘Kingdom Come’ in 2001. By 2004, she had begun work on her second album and had released a single, ‘I’m Leaving.’ She released another single the following year. In 2010, she signed with Universal Records and released the single ‘The Heart In Me,’ which was included on the compilation ‘Adidas 2: The Music.’ WEtv signed Braxton, her mother, and sisters for a reality series called ‘Braxton Family Values’ the same year. On April 12, 2011, the show premiered.

During the ‘ELLE/Style360’ NYC Fashion Week, she modeled for the ‘Front Row Couture’ collection. She also co-hosted Tameka Cottle’s VH1 talk show “Tiny Tonight.” She hosted ‘The Culturelist,’ a show on Centric, BET’s sister channel. She finally found her rightful place in the music industry in 2013. She signed a deal with Epic Records in 2013 to release her second album, ‘Love and War,’ on September 3, 2013.
