Kinney portrayed Luke Gianni on MyNetworkTV’s Fashion House (2006) and Glenn Morrison on NBC’s Trauma. Kinney had a recurring role as Mason Lockwood on the supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries, which he joined in the second season. Kinney had an appearance in Lady Gaga’s music video for the song “You and I” in 2011.
Kinney was cast as a lead in Chicago Fire, a drama series that depicts the lives of firemen and paramedics, in 2012.
