Chris is the evening helicopter reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News on AIR7 HD. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2014, Chris has had a bird’s-eye view of Southern California while covering breaking news. His reporting spans weather, traffic, numerous police chases, wildfires, and the 2015 San Bernardino terrorist attack.
In 2016, Chris earned a Golden Mike Award from the Radio and Television News Association for his live coverage of the Cajon Pass brush fire, which engulfed a section of freeway traffic.
After graduating, he worked as a co-op at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center press site. Following the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in 2003, he began his helicopter reporting career at the FOX affiliate in Orlando and later at WSVN in Miami. In 2005, during Hurricane Rita’s devastation of the Texas coast, Chris was assigned by CBS News to cover the event as an airborne photojournalist.
Chris then moved to New York City, reporting for WNYW, FOX 5, where he covered the historic MTA subway strike and was among the first to broadcast from the helicopter over the “Miracle on the Hudson,” Captain Sully’s famed landing of US Airways Flight 1549.
Before joining ABC7, Chris also traveled internationally, interviewing newsmakers and celebrities for entertainment outlets such as Us Weekly, InTouch Weekly, and Life & Style magazine.
